Weird Art Month: Jessica Joslin

By Sam Reeve

When I stumbled upon Jessica Joslin’s work I was not only stunned by its beauty and detail, but by the sheer amount of it. She’s already got over 200 of these sculptures to her name, and her menagerie of brass and bone only keeps growing. She gives new life to both the animal and the antiques from which these sculptures are crafted. In the event a certain animal is endangered or rare, she uses a replica skeleton instead.

I recommend checking out Jessica’s website for more pictures of her work. You won’t regret it.

Weekly Weird Art: Meagan Jenigen

By Sam Reeve

Meagan Jenigen is a young artist residing in Baltimore. Her work is diverse, something I really appreciate, and of course it’s all wonderfully strange. She’s even done a few taxidermy pieces!

Check out her work below, or visit her website or deviantART page.

Weekly Weird Art: Scott Hove

By Sam Reeve

This is the first Weekly Weird Art post of 2013, and today’s artist is most definitely in my top ten of favourite artists of all time. I am more in love with Scott Hove’s work than I know how to express. His vicious-looking cakes are a visual treat like none other.

Scott creates both sculptures and huge Cakeland installations. He also paints and does murals, though I’m a much bigger fan of the Cakeland stuff. Check out his work below, or visit his website here.

Day 7: Bryan Crow

By Sam Reeve

I really don’t know much about Bryan Crow, but I know that I love mixed-media art, so this dude is right up my alley. He also makes some weird sculptures but I can’t seem to be able to steal those pictures from his website or find them anywhere else. Bryan currently lives in Arizona, but comes from Texas. Enjoy!
