Flash Fiction Friday: Double Chin
by Andrew Wayne Adams
I woke up yesterday morning with a double chin. I cut the second chin off and fried it for breakfast. It was too fatty. It was all fat. I ate it with mustard. When I think I won’t like the taste of something, I put mustard on it so that I’ll just taste the mustard.
This morning I wake up with another double chin. I eat it for breakfast, thinking this chin might be better than the last. It is not better. I eat it with ketchup. I go to the doctor and ask why I keep waking up with double chins. He says, At least you have a reliable source of food. I say, My double chins are too fatty for my tastes. He says, Fat is good for the heart, it insulates it. I say, I would rather eat my heart than my double chin. He says, For heart insulation, fiberglass also works well. I say, It would probably take a lot of mayonnaise to make a heart taste good.
