Day 18: Nick Blinko

By Sam Reeve

Nick Blinko is known for fronting the punk band Rudimentary Peni, but he’s also an artist and writer, having produced the artwork for the band’s album covers. Diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, he works when not on medication, which hampers his creative abilities. He comes from England and is a bit of a reclusive fellow, but check out his artwork, his book and this awesome video on youtube where you can see some art AND hear his music (I’m just posting this video instead of pictures so you have to listen to the song, mostly because I’m lazy and got home late. Suck on it):

  1. Rudimentary Peni was a big part of my high school punk rock soundtrack, I adore Blinko’s art. Good pick! I am really enjoying this series Sam!

Blinko’s art and Rudimentary Peni are superb.
I’d recomend their album Cacophony to anyone who wants to hear a killer punk / deathrock album about H. P. Lovecraft.

That anonymous comment was mine, by mistake.

Here’s a cool, funny video of my favorite songs from Cacophony.
